Sustainability at Hub Feenix

Sustainability at Hub Feenix is less about perfection and more about everyday awareness - how we live, share resources, and care for the spaces around us together. It's approached in a practical and evolving way that’s woven into daily life rather than treated as a separate ideology.

Ecological Sustainability

Living collectively naturally reduces duplication of resources and encourages more mindful consumption.

Shared kitchens, coworking areas and communal spaces allow residents to consume less individually. Reuse is supported through shared items, community resources, and a clothing exchange.

Seasonal growing projects and gardens are part of the broader vision of learning to live more closely with the land, while the use of solar panels supports the building’s ongoing relationship to more sustainable energy use.

Social Sustainability

Social sustainability at Hub Feenix is rooted in creating an environment where different people and ways of living can coexist respectfully over time.

Rather than forcing constant togetherness, the community is designed to allow both connection and independence. This is supported through shared values centered around care, fairness, curiosity, and generosity, alongside evolving community processes such as CLIPS, which help support communication and reflection.

Economic Sustainability

Hub Feenix operates through shared resources, gradual development, and long-term thinking that sustainable rather than rapid growth.

Many spaces and facilities are collectively used rather than privately owned, allowing resources to stretch further while keeping living and working costs more accessible. At the same time, we strive to support individual creative expression and independent ways of working while maintaining a strong sense of group solidarity and shared responsibility within the wider community.
